Finally!

After two years of preparation we are accepting students. Our first class  with Ruth Block, accomplished drawer, fine painter, and enthusiastic instructor, is starting June 27. She also has a first rate web site where you can get to know her, know her work, and teaching. http://ruthblock.com.

Paul Jackson who is a watercolor teaching dynamo is coming to Hawaii December 4th to 11th. He will be coming with his family for a special "get warm" teaching experience. Take a look at his incredible website. He’s back from China, back from France, and all ours for one dynamic week. We have the class starting to fill - Get the calendar here.

Wow

Darrel Hill's class was a winner.  He has been teaching for years and set a standard for classes here at HAJ. No surprise there. But the great people we had attending... wow. I came to observe for several days and I truly believe everyone present profited, they certainly worked hard. I hope to have pictures posted as soon as I get Marshall (IT major and #1 son) to coach me in Core File Transfer. I was very pleased with the intensity of the class and the hours of painting achieved. This is where we are headed for sure.

Do not miss:  Brenda Fisher!

She is coming a great distance from the lands of ice and snow. More importantly she is teaching beginning water color.  Here is a first rate artist who will get you started right. Particularly if you are proficient in another medium it behooves you to get instruction and develop proper new habits. If you are new to art, watercolor is a low cost, little mess, place to start. Moreover, as there is no erasure, you develop a certainty and sureness that benefits your work for all time to come. Checking the date you must realize this is an "act now"

Birgit O'Connor coming soon. http://www.birgitoconnor.com/

Do you have anyone in mind for us? If there is someone you would like to study with, gather ten others who can agree on a week and we will pay your instructors stay and a stipend. Go thru this site and call with any questions.
