Classic Drawing & Figure Painting

6 sessions, 3-5 hours per session.
Class Description:

Combining both accurate observational realism with personal stylistic expression, this Special 6-Day Workshop is structured to bring the serious beginner as well as intermediate and advanced student/artist on an intensive figure drawing and painting journey.

This is a unique opportunity to work with this internationally renowned artist and master life drawing, and painting, teacher in a delightful setting. Mornings will include demonstrations, instruction, and practice with the life model. In the afternoons you are free to practice drawing and/or painting with Ruth Block, who will be available for additional one-on-one individual mentoring and critique/assessment.

Included also in this workshops will be compositional and color theory guidelines for working with both the figure and landscape. Autographed copies of Ms Block’s award winning DVD’s and book, A YEAR OF SUNDAYS: MANDALAS AS AN ARTIST’S PORTAL, will be available.
Suggested Materials:

* Brush – Medium (#10-#16) round or flat
* Paint – Tube pigments or good quality pan set
* Paper – 9″ x 12″ or larger, 70 lb. to 80 lb
* Watercolor pencils or watercolor crayons
* Palette – Large white mixing surface

Optional Materials:

* 90 lb to 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper
* Expanded color set
* Small cosmetic or ceramic s sponge
* #2 or 2B pencil or wash pencil
* clear or white kneaded eraser
